Troy Talk - May 2025

Troy Elementary Builds Stronger Community Connections Through Service and Sharing.

One of the key goals at Troy Elementary School this year is to build stronger

connections with the local community, and it's already off to a great start.

As part of this mission, joining members of the senior community for food, conversation, and a meaningful exchange of talents and stories. The 5th and 6th grade classes have taken the lead in this effort, and the results have been inspiring for all involved. Students bring not only their energy and enthusiasm, but also their creativity and kindness.

Whether it’s sharing a musical performance, helping to serve a meal, or simply sitting down for a friendly chat, these young learners are making a difference and learning the value of community along the way.

Through these activities, Troy Elementary is creating a bridge between generations and showing that meaningful community engagement can start at any age. With more initiatives like this on the horizon, the school is excited to continue building a stronger, more connected Troy. Thank you to all of our Seniors for letting us join the fun during your lunches!

LIBRARY NEWS:      Wow, it is already May and school will be out soon! I am busy preparing for the 2025 Summer Reading Program (SRP), I am excited to bring some educational and fun programming to our community this summer. Stay tuned for more information to come about SRP.

Summer Reading is for all ages, fun for adults too. May’s STEAM activity is a Critter Bot build at the library, May 14th, 3:30-5:00 pm. These shaky little bots are a lot of fun to build.

There will be all kinds of supplies, so you can design your own bot. However, I will also have some simple examples for those who need inspiration. This activity are geared towards elementary-age kids.

The last Storytime before summer break will be on May 1st, at 11 am. Our final Storytime this season is animal themed and we will do fingerprint animals for craft. Storytime will be on hiatus over the summer and will return next school year.

If you have questions about anything happening at the library this month, please call Michelle Sturdy at 208-835-4311 or email troy@latahlibrary.org
